About me
Hi, I’m Sally Lawrance and I own Lotus Counselling, a private therapeutic counselling practice, based on the edge of the Cotswolds.
Counselling is a second career for me. Previously I was in the corporate world, working in senior management in Marketing, Customer Services and HR. I have always been interested in psychology and all aspects of my corporate experience relied on the people connections of the teams I worked with and the customers we served.
Having experienced my own challenges with anxiety, my interest in mental health and wellbeing grew and eventually I took the plunge and left the business world behind, and I began to retrain. Once I had I qualified in Therapeutic Counselling with adults, I further studied to qualify in working with Children and Young People as well. And I spent a year working for TiC+ - a charity offering counselling to children and young people, predominantly working in schools.
In my private practice I work both in person and online, and with adults and young people. In person sessions can be held in my therapy rooms in either central Evesham or Bishops Cleeve (just north of Cheltenham).
I absolutely love what I do and it is a privilege to be a part of helping people on their journey.
How we’ll work together
We’ll work together to explore what brings you to counselling - I may encourage you to go more deeply, or I may offer a different perspective, but the focus of our discussions will come from you. I will not judge you, but instead really listen to your worries, anxieties, and concerns so together we create a space where you feel supported to find ways to cope and manage things more effectively.
I use an integrative approach, which means I may draw on your childhood and upbringing to help understand why you may be feeling the way you do, and then focus on how this impacts your day-to-day living. I aim to offer a trusted relationship that allows you to feel safe and open with me. I want to support your healing journey, and may also help you to grow by working alongside you.
